Privacy Policy
Seenergy Foods Limited (“Seenergy”, “we”, “us”) makes pre-cooked IQF beans, grains, rice, lentils, blends and pasta for food manufacturers and foodservice businesses. This policy explains what personal information we collect through seenergyfoods.com and in the course of doing business, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We are based in Ontario, Canada, and handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Our business is business-to-business. Most of the information we hold is business contact information about people at our customers, prospects and suppliers. We do not sell food directly to consumers through this site.

We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we do not ask for sensitive information such as health or financial details about individuals. Please don’t send it to us.
2. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies, managed through the consent banner on our site. Only strictly necessary cookies are active by default. Statistics and marketing cookies run only if you accept them, and you can change your choice anytime through Manage Consent at the bottom of any page.

These tools are run by Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn and OpenAI, which process data under their own privacy policies. You can also block cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as intended.
3. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- Respond to inquiries and ship requested samples
- Quote, sell, deliver and invoice products, and manage customer and supplier relationships
- Meet food-safety, traceability, tax and other legal obligations
- Understand and improve our website and measure our advertising
- Send business communications about our products, as described below
We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t use it for any other purpose without your consent unless the law permits or requires it.
4. Marketing emails
We send product updates and occasional promotional emails to business contacts. We send them only where we have your consent: either express consent you give us, for example by ticking the box on our sample form, or implied consent permitted under CASL, such as an existing business relationship or business contact details you’ve published or given to us.
Every marketing email identifies Seenergy, includes our mailing address, and has a way to unsubscribe. We act on unsubscribe requests within 10 business days. You can also email privacy@seenergyfoods.com. Unsubscribing doesn’t stop emails we need to send about orders, deliveries or your account.
5. Sharing and service providers
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only what they need to do their job. They are contractually required to protect it and use it only for us. They include:

We may also disclose information to our professional advisers, when required by law, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business, subject to confidentiality obligations.
Transfers outside Canada. Several of these providers store or process data in the United States or elsewhere, and we have a U.S. office in Buffalo, NY. Information stored outside Canada is subject to the laws of that country, and authorities there may be able to access it. Before transferring information outside Quebec, we assess whether it will be adequately protected, as Law 25 requires.
6. Retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires:
- Customer and supplier records: 7 years after the last transaction, for tax, accounting and traceability
- Prospects and sample requests with no ongoing relationship: up to 3 years after our last contact
- Website analytics data: per each tool’s retention setting, at most 14 months
After that, we delete or anonymize it.
We protect information with reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. These include encrypted connections to our site, access limited to staff who need it, multi-factor authentication on key systems, and contractual protections with service providers. No system is perfectly secure. If a privacy incident creates a risk of serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the relevant privacy regulators as the law requires.
7. Your rights
Subject to legal limits, you can:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and how we use it
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Withdraw your consent, for example to marketing emails or cookies
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need
- If you are in Quebec, ask for your information in a structured, commonly used technological format, and ask us to stop disseminating it

We will update this policy as our practices change and post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date. We will notify you directly of any significant change that affects how we use information you’ve already given us.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing
We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.
We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to ship an order.
Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.
Your Access to and Control Over Information
You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given on our website:
• See what data we have about you, if any.
• Change/correct any data we have about you.
• Have us delete any data we have about you.
• Express any concern you have about our use of your data.
Security
We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
